Let's Chat...
Self-Care Was Never a Luxury
In ancient times, self-care was a natural way of life. It was a priority, not something that had to be squeezed into a schedule.
Somewhere along the way, self-care became a time luxury , something many of our schedules can’t afford.
When it came to self care ...it wasnt an appointment....It just was ....
It was part of daily life that was autonomous.
Now it feels like a luxury.
• Something we do if there’s time.
• If the house is clean.
• If everyone else is okay first.
Somewhere along the way, self-care became a maybe.
Looking Beyond the Bath
Self-care is not just about bubble baths and imported chocolate, although let's face it ..it does sound pretty good.
It’s your skin, your mindset, your health and sense of self. You find selfcare within the boundaries you set and the ones you’re still learning to set.
It’s forgiving yourself for what you didn’t know back then, 🌿 and for the choices you made when you were just trying to survive.
It’s finding the parts of yourself that got lost along the way.The parts that loved
🪷To create.
🪷To cook.
🪷To read.
🪷To enjoy.
Self-care is learning. It’s choosing kinder thoughts about yourself, even when your mind defaults to criticism while releasing the past instead of carrying it everywhere you go.
Its important to remember the center of self care is safety, peace and happiness.
One of the hardest things for most of us is being honest about who you are and what you actually love ... not what looks productive or impressive.
Self-Care In a Cycle
It starts in the mind, with a thought or a choice. That choice turns into an action, and the action creates a result.
We try to “think better” or “be more positive.”
Its important to understand :
Rest creates clarity.
Boundaries create safety.
Consistency builds trust with yourself.
Trust crafts a strong foundation for our sense of self.
Final Thought
Self-care was never meant to feel forced or earned. It was meant to be a natural response to living.
As life continues life-ing, it can become difficult to find ourselves again — to know how to reconnect, reflect, and put all the pieces together.
If this feels familiar, and you find yourself wanting to reconnect with your sense of self, understand your patterns, and gently rebuild self-care as something natural again, I created The “It’s You!” Self-Care Workbook Trio as a place to do exactly that.
🐦 Reconnect with yourself and explore the many sides of self-care, life, and your true self with
The “It’s You!” Self-Care Workbook" Trio.
